Stitchy fingers

My Irish grandmother taught me to embroider and with my oldest sister, Liz, I learned dress-making. Later I studied stitchery with Irene Preston Miller. Here are a few of my handmade gifts and up-cyclings that were documented. (Dresses, suits, embroidered backpacks and cummerbunds – and more – were not!)

I also engage in upscaling – not only jeans, skirts and aprons, but also chairs, divans, bookcases and tables that I've found at the curb, and even along the canal and in the woods.
